I really suggest that you read more of this post.

1. Wired news interviews Bram Cohen.
2. Microsoft just released antispyware software.
3. Apple has been sued for forcing a user to buy an iPod to listen to his music on the go.

Wired Magazine just interviewed Bram Cohen. This is an absolute must read. Bram Cohen is the creator of the popular bittorrent protocol. While it contains some insightful comments about the possible futures of TV media, the best bits are the funny ones.

Selected quotes:

"The Pirate Bay is a BitTorrent tracking site in Sweden with 150,000 users a day. In the fall, it posted a torrent for Shrek 2. Dreamworks sent a cease-and-desist letter demanding the site remove it. One of the site's pseudonymous owners, Anakata, replied: "As you may or may not be aware, Sweden is not a state in the United States of America. Sweden is a country in northern Europe [and] US law does not apply here. … It is the opinion of us and our lawyers that you are fucking morons." Shrek 2 stayed up."

"He (Cohen) particularly loved the first season of Paris Hilton's The Simple Life. "You can watch that show for six hours," Cohen says, "and your brain is still empty."

Actually, since you've read those, don't bother reading the article unless you actually know (or want to know) what bittorrent is. Oh, and for more laughts, read all of Pirate Bay responses to legal mail: For example, this is what the actual reply to dreamworks was:

Quote:

It is the opinion of us and our lawyers that you are fucking morons, and that you should please go sodomize yourself with retractable batons. Please also note that your e-mail and letter will be published in full on http://www.thepiratebay.org.

Go fuck yourself.

Polite as usual,
anakata

In other news, Microsoft just released antispyware software:

I wouldn't recommend it to the average user. The average user should use Lavasoft Adaware

Finally, Apple has been sued for forcing a user to buy an iPod to listen to his music on the go.
