Update 20th October: All About Symbian reports that Nokia China has announced this phone. They also confirm that this is a rebranded Benq P31 (announced more than six months ago - look here for a nice overview.)
Benq's interest in this is obviously to sell a product. Nokia's interest is not so clear - while overtly the 6708 does not overlap with any other Nokia product, why restrict it to China in that case?

This seems rather strange, because while Nokia has made lots of Symbian phones it has (up till now) stuck to it's Series 60 interface rather than dabbling with UIQ - but Slasphone is reporting that the phone pictured above, the Nokia 6708, is being displayed by Nokia at the China Communications Show.
Old OS (Symbian 7.0) and not really updated features (1.3MP camera , 208*305 65K colour screen) but it's interesting nevetheless.
We're going to be covering the new UIQ champ, the Sony Ericsson P990 in awhile, but we're waiting for the dust to settle...
