Nokia announces new E-Series - Symbian Business Phones

Posted On: Wed, 12/10/2005 - 12:54 by Alex

Nokia has just released information about a new range of Symbian OS based devices called the E-Series. Much like the N-Series, but this time focussed strongly upon the business segment. This action seems in line with other moves Nokia has recently made to appeal more strongly to the business crowd; including the release of the Nokia 9300 in the US, and standardized push-email capabilities.

For the first time, there is a Nokia handset built in the Treo form-factor, and to make this sweeter, that device, the Nokia E61, has quadband and WiFi. (Update: It is uncertain if that the E61 has have WiFi. While no 802.11 variant is listed in the technical specifications; there are references to WLAN call management in that same document, and the webcast suggests that it does include WiFi.)

Click on to read a roundup of the new phones, and see pretty pictures!
