Our last coverage of the Samsung D720 suggested that it was not very likely to actually arrive. However, today there was a report by Telecoms Korea (paid subscription required) which suggests that the D720 is meant to be a shipping phone.
The article was basically an interview of Tatsuki Tomita, the Asia Pacific Business Development manager of Opera Software; and it was stated that "Samsung Electronics let its D710 users download opera browser and is to launch D720 that also supports Opera."
The first portion of that statement confuzzles us: The D710 is still not shipping as far as we can tell; but at least someone other than the rumour sites have information about the model. The fact that it is compatible with Opera is not a big deal, as the Nokia Symbian S60 phones are, and the Nokia 6600 even had it preinstalled.
Look here for more information about this new Samsung 'novelty'. The only thing we can really add to that is the suggestion that it has a macro shooting mode. (as reported by mobile-review)
