Symbian Software

Posted On: Mon, 01/11/2004 - 09:37 by Alex

Symplification occasionally reviews pieces of software meant for Symbian Series 60 mobile phones. Compatibility information will be posted as available, but it is a safe assumption that all programs work with the Nokia 7610 mobile phone.

Symplification also occasionally reviews mobile phones which run on Symbian, a smartphone platform which enables phones to surf the net, play games and run productivity applications. While the first such phones were developed by Nokia, the Symbian platform is now about to be open-sourced and more than 5 other manufacturers (including Motorola, Sony Ericsson, Samsung and LG) have developed mobile phones based on the platform. On a separate note, if you're looking to buy a smartphone or a mobile phone UK, we recommend O2.

It is also pertinent to note that all this software is very likely to work in all Nokia Symbian Series 60 mobile phones prior to the 7610, including the 3650, 3660, 6600, 7650, n-Gage, and n-Gage QD. Siemens SX1 compatiblity is far more uncertain. It would be appreciated if you would comment below about software compatibility with newer mobiles, such as the 6260 and 6630.
