We generally rate each commercial application with one of the following logos:

Score of more than 90%; extremely desirable.

Score of more than 70%; good, but may be flawed.

Score of more than 50%; has functionality which is useful, but major issues.
For scores lower than 50%, there is no comment. This will either be because the program is utterly useless, because it does not fulfil it's stated purpose, or, for games, because it simply is not fun. More detailed reasoning will usually be included in individual reviews.
The system is similar for freeware, except that no score will be awarded. Expect most reviews to be good. Nobody wants to use horrible software, including me. :D
